The Montrose Indians won their third game (39-7) Thursday September 10th against former 3A State Champs, the Durango Demons.

The Montrose Indians are known for running and they showed it running for 313 yards and 6 touchdowns. Four of those touchdowns came  from Austin Griffin and one the touchdowns was a 90 yard kickoff return by Ethan Hartman.

“It feels amazing, it’s something I’ve been working toward since I was a little kid,” Hartman said. 

With what should’ve been a close game Montrose blew passed Durango with the score being 21-7 in the first half. 

“I think that we look good, we still need to make minor improvements like tackling and small things like that but overall I think we look really good for this early in the season.”

Montrose is now 2nd ranked in class 4a after a win against Durango, they also beat the Palisade Bulldogs 35-7 Thursday September 16th.

The Indians will take on the Grand Junction Tigers Friday September 24 @7:00pm for homecoming.
