Tres leches cupcakes are a dry sponge cake with a milk mixture at the
bottom to create a moist dense cupcake vanilla cake.
- To start off, preheat your oven to 350.
- In order to make these cupcakes you can beat egg whites so soft peaks form. In a separate bowl add yellows of the egg to sugar and vanilla and whole milk.
- Once all thoroughly mixed and combined, fold in half of your egg whites gently then the other half.
- Then you sift in your dry ingredients like all purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder.
- Add this mixture to cupcake liners and bake for 20 minutes.
- When the cupcakes come out, let them dry and they should be dry and hard.
- While they dry you can make the milk mixture by whisking together the sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, and evaporated milk.
- Once mixed well and cupcakes are dry you may poke holes with a fork in the cupcakes and pour the milk mixture over the top.
- Frost the cupcakes and garnish with a fruit and cinnamon if you’d like and that is all for the tres leches cupcakes.
