April 21, 2022
Taylor Foster is a a standout athlete who is a Southwestern League champion in track for the 100 and 200m, qualified for 1st and 2nd team All-Conference for volleyball. She competed at the varsity level in volleyball all four years, and her sophomore year they made it to State. Despite the team losing fairly early, she loved the experience there. She has also been on varsity track for 2 years and qualified for State both years.
“Volleyball was definitely my favorite sport, I met all my closest friends that I have now on the volleyball team, and I will definitely love volleyball forever,” Foster said.
Foster’s experience here at MHS was very fun, and there was never a dull moment. She met most of her lifelong friends and her boyfriend, Cole Simmons here.
“In my free time I love spending time with my family and friends. I also love boating and going to the gym,” Foster said.
Foster was one of the three MHS seniors to win the Daniels Scholarship which will pay for up to $25,000 per year. Only seniors from Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming are eligible for this prestigious scholarship. After finalists participate in an interview process, the Daniels fund selects the Daniels scholars out of the interviewees. Only about 240 students out of 2000 win.
After graduation, Foster plans to attend the University of Arizona ,which has always been her first choice, to get her Bachelor’s in nursing and eventually become a travel or labor and delivery nurse. She enjoyed everything about her experience here at Montrose High School and loves all her memories but can’t wait to get her life started in Arizona.
