Class of 2022: Smith
May 5, 2022
Senior Madison Smith is an exciting, bubbly, wild, and a caring person. Throughout her high school career, Smith participated in marching band during all four years.
“It is a big family, everyone is there for each other, ” Smith said.
She also was a part of film club for the two years while it existed.
During her free time, she loves to bake and spend time with her loved ones. She is really excited about getting out in the world and trying new things and exploring what it has to offer.
“My experience in Montrose High School was amazing, I have made so many new friends and I am so glad I got to meet them,” Smith said.
After graduation, she will be attending Colorado Mesa University in August, 2022, to get her bachelor’s degree in business. She chose CMU because of its close location and their strong business program.
“I have always wanted to own my own Bakery/Coffee Shop, and Mesa has this opportunity where I can pursue it!”
Madi had just found out the wonderful news of her full ride scholarship called the ‘Nick Grey Scholarship’. She was the one of eight students who were awarded this scholarship who won.
“This scholarship is a blessing as I would’ve struggled paying for college but now that’s one less thing to worry about,” Smith said. “It honestly changes everything.”
Madi and her family are super happy and excited for her. Smith also says she’s really excited to graduate and move on with life, but she won’t forget a thing high school taught her.
